Feel Good Friday – Create Your Own Coping Plan
Every Friday we team up with the Canadian Mental Health Association – Lambton-Kent for FEEL GOOD FRIDAY!
We hope that by sharing things you can do, and ways you can continue to take care of yourself, it will help you to FEEL GOOD! This pandemic has been hard on all of us. Everyone has been affected in one way or another and it’s not over yet.
In yesterday’s blog – I shared an article about how a lot of us are hitting a wall right now. All that adrenaline that helped get us through at the beginning of this is now depleted and we’re exhausted. It’s the constant adapting and changing situations. The fear, the worry, the anxiety.
This week’s Feel Good Friday focuses on creating an individualized coping plan.
“A coping plan outlines different activities, people or resources that can help you cope with difficult emotions and stressful situations. Try writing out activities you know that boost your mood like drawing, photography, gardening or going for a walk, and be sure to include specific people you feel comfortable reaching out to. This can include family members, friends and community resources too, so be sure to include their contact information as well so that it is easy to reach out in the moment. By planning and writing out the things that help you when your mood is low, we can create a handy resource that we can refer and look back on when we need it.
