New Music Monday – Meet Reset To Beautiful
I get really excited about new music and when an email from Myron of the band Reset to Beautiful crossed my desk, introducing himself to us and dropping a hint of a shared love of Duran Duran, I couldn’t help but be interested. (smile)
But when I listened to the song – that’s when I got excited. It was upbeat, it had a hook, a great melody, and I loved the references to music from the 80’s and 90’s. Probably more than I caught. Taylor Swift isn’t the only one with the Easter Eggs I guess. (smile)
We get introduced to a lot of new music every single day and there are some incredibly talented people that don’t often get the chance to be heard, so if I get the chance to talk to someone about the music they make, I’m going to do it. And I’m going to share it.
It’s been a few weeks of schedule changes, and back and forth emails, trying to fit in day jobs and time differences – but we finally managed to connect.
It was impossible to get the whole band together at the same time, so I managed to nail down a time with Myron Sinnen, just before he started his day job as a French kindergarten teacher. His students know about his “other” job and parents do too. They have a pretty big cheering section encouraging them in what they do.
It was great to get to know this independent Canadian band and get an idea of who they are, what they want to do.
