Feel Good Friday – Are You Taking Care Of Your Body?

It’s another Feel Good Friday!  Sharing ways you can continue to take care of yourself so you can FEEL GOOD!

Let me ask you a question – Are you taking care of your physical health?

Because it matters.

We’ve talked about the importance of exercise before, but taking care of your body is MORE than squats and lunges and Zumba if you’re lucky! (smile)  I do love a good Zumba class.  Me and my two left feet have a grand ole time.  The music. The movement. The heart racing.  Sweat dripping down your face.  Feeling like a rock star.

That’s important.  But The Canadian Mental Health Association Lambton-Kent reminds us, in recognition of Infection and Prevention Control Week, that as we head into cold and flu season, you can take care of your mental health by caring for your physical health with some flu prevention activities.

Maybe it’s not as fun as Zumba (smile).  But you can still feel like a rock star if you do it –

  • Get that flu shot.
  • Wear your mask.   (get a really fun one, get a bunch)
  • Wash your hands.
  • Sanitize.  (I know, I’m getting tired of it too – sanitize, sanitize, sanitize)
  • And keep your distance.  (six feet apart, social bubbles, all that stuff – it’s okay I don’t mind protecting my personal space)

We know that our mental and physical health are closely related and impact one another, and by taking care of one it can have a positive impact on the other.

What else can you do to prepare for flu season?

Maybe channel David Rose from Schitt’s Creek?  (smile)
