Feel Good Friday – Bird Watching For A Mental Health Boost
Every Friday the Fox teams up with the Canadian Mental Health Association Lambton Kent for Feel Good Friday. Sharing things you can do to take care of yourself, focus on your mental health and help you feel GOOD!
Today it’s all about the birds. I LOVE to bird watch. It’s my favourite way to start my day. I sit outside, with a cup of coffee (or two or three ) and watch “my” birds. Yes, I claim them as my own. I have a bird feeder and I love to watch them come and grab a snack. It relaxes me and I enjoy it. A walk through Canatara Park is always an adventure. Wondering what birds you will see each time.
And today’s Feel Good Friday shows you just how good it is for you.
“Did you know that bird watching is more than just an enjoyable hobby? The simple activity of bird watching can actually have a big impact on your well-being! Not only does birdwatching encourage us to take walks and get fresh air, but research also shows that birdwatching is associated with lower levels of depression, anxiety and stress! So why not boost your mental health with some birdwatching this weekend?!”
