Feel Good Friday – Give Yourself A Break

Every week the Fox teams up with the Canadian Mental Health Association Lambton Kent for Feel Good Friday – sharing different ways you can continue to take care of yourself, focus on your mental health and FEEL GOOD!

This week’s message – learning how to take breaks.  In those moments when it all just seems like too much, step away for a moment.  Do anything but whatever was stressing you out until you feel a little bit better.

Sometimes the best thing to do is a simple breathing exercise: Close your eyes and take ten deep breaths. For each one, count to four as you inhale, hold it for a count of four, and then exhale for another four.

A change of scenery or a change of pace is also good for your mental health!  It could be a five-minute pause from cleaning your kitchen, or a weekend exploring somewhere new. A few minutes can be enough to de-stress you – give yourself some “me time” this weekend!
