Dan Edwards In Studio
To me, Dan Edwards is a bit of legend. A motivational speaker. One of the most positive, inspirational people on the planet. Just reading some of his posts on social media, you feel better.
And if you know his story, you might wonder HOW that’s even possible. How to stay positive and find the joy in the situation. How to take a tragedy of sorts, and turn it into something that continues to be a powerful force for good in the community that gave back to him and his family when he needed it most.
It was an accident. Fooling around, wrestling with a friend, that led to a spinal injury that changed his life forever. The athlete that was good and excelled at all the sports was now in a wheelchair, learning to live life in a new way.
I don’t know what that feels like. I don’t know what it’s like to have life turned upside down that way. I do know tragedy in another form. And I do know the struggle to turn it around.
My story and Dan’s story are not the same, but I think we all have something that has changed who we are. Someone or something has broken us down. Damaged our spirit. Broken our hearts.
“Everybody has a story that will break your heart.” I don’t know if that’s a lyric from a song, but it’s stuck with me.
Today Dan joined me in the Fox studio and I was thrilled to sit and chat with him. He is like sunshine and just shines his light wherever he goes. I like people like that. I love that this community helped him when he needed it, and that led to him finding a way to give back.
Listen to our conversation. Thanks Dan.
Off Mic – Dan and I talked about life, challenges and MUSIC! Dan lit up when we played Classifed and “Good News” and said he would love to bring him to Sarnia and mentioned a favourite song –
