Grandma Woodley’s Mac And Cheese Recipe
It’s Mac and Cheese Day today…
A day I thought would have a winter date considering it’s a comfort food casserole that involves heating up the oven, not something I want to do in the middle of July LOL! Maybe it will just be a KD for lunch kind of day…
But I did want to share my Grandma Woodley’s Mac and Cheese recipe… it’s not formally written out anywhere, no actual measurements….but here it is:
Cook one package of Macaroni, (al dente), Shred a Bunch of cheese and par cook a package of bacon.
Layer a casserole dish with cooked macaroni, a sprinkle of flour and a layer of cheese. Repeat until full.
Pour milk over entire casserole until the dish is about half full of milk.
Cut par cooked bacon into 2 inch pieces and cover the top of the entire casserole with bacon.
Bake (350-375 degrees) until cooked through and bacon is crispy…about an hour.
Serve and enjoy… (I put ketchup on it!!)
