Ketchup Chips: A Canadian Delicacy!
Canada Day always gets us thinking about our favoUrite Canadian Everything, from drinks, to provinces, actors to singers….and of course food.
Yes I love me some poutine and a butter tart…but I have to say Ketchup Chips are my fave…all the salty, sour, sweet beauty of ketchup in a nice crunchy potato chip!! Did you know you can only get Ketchup chips in CANADA? It’s thanks to Hostess (remember the Munchie mascots on the bright red bag??) a Canadian snack company founded near Cambridge Ontario who first introduced us to this unique flavour in the late 1970’s. (fyi Hostess is now sold under Lays and rumour has it that it’s thanks to hostess that we have universal colours to indicate Chip flavour (Yellow for Plain, Blue for Salt and Vinegar etc)
My FAVOURITE BRAND of Ketchup Chip is President’s Choice LOADS of KETCHUP Flavour ( also a Cdn Brand:) So good!! Happy Snacking!!
