A broken heart. Drawing of a heart on a cracked wall. Broken relationships. Treason and betrayal. Past love. A quarrel.

Sara Bareilles Shares Song About Grief

If you have ever lost someone close to you, someone that you loved – you know the pain of grief.

And there is comfort in being able to share that grief with people who understand.

That’s the hardest part about going through something so tragic. You feel alone in the pain.

Sharing helps.

When I came across this today, I knew I had to share it with you in case you know the feeling.

Greiving is hard and it never truly ends. We learn to live with it but it’s always there and when you connect with someone, even listening to a conversation, you feel connected on a deeper level. You feel understood.

Sending love to all who are hurting. You are not alone.

I lost my mom, brother and sister in a car accident in July of 1990. I miss them everyday and still get incredibly sad some days, as if it just happened. And I still get really mad at what we lost, and have continued to lose over the years because someone drove through a stop sign.

Share your stories. Keep talking about those you miss. It helps you but it helps all of us who just want to feel understood and heard.

The conversation that inspired Sara’s new music.
