Rock Painting For A Good Cause
We had so much fun today at Blackburn Media – painting rocks! I know, I know. Not your average, everyday workday, right? Nope. It sure wasn’t.
The reason we painted rocks in the parking lot? For Rocky the Snake. I’m not sure if you’re familiar with Rocky the Snake. It’s a project that was started in June 2023 by Wendy Marsden and her partner. An idea she got from a rock snake named Roscoe in Fate, Texas.
Since she placed those 13 rocks along the Sarnia waterfront, Rocky has grown into something so much bigger.
It brings smiles to residents and tourists too as they walk along the waterfront under the Bluewater Bridges. But the weather can take it’s toll, sometimes rocks are taken or thrown into the water and this year Wendy is looking for community to come together again and help to rebuild Rocky.
Wendy reached out to The Fox and asked us if we would be a part of the re-building of Rocky – and we jumped at the chance.
Today, we had a staff bbq and afterward – armed with paint and brushes – we got to work.
It was so much fun and we are thrilled we were asked to be part of it. Maybe other members of the community will step up and have some fun like we did.
Get your groups together – reach out to Rocky the Snake and ask if they can stop by your group. We are looking forward to placing our rocks down by the Waterfront closer to the anniversary date of when Rocky the
Snake first made an appearance along the water.
