I Am Celine Dion

Over the long weekend I had the chance to sit down and watch “I Am Celine Dion” the new documentary about the legendary musician now streaming on Prime.

It brought me to tears.  Yes, it’s a bit of background on how Celine got started in music and her early career, but as is described in the info – it’s a love letter to her fans.

We’ve come to know Celine Dion as a vocal powerhouse.  She is unmatched.  There is no one on this earth that comes close to her talent as a singer.  It’s her pride and joy and as she shares in this documentary – it’s her whole identity.  And her identity has been rocked to her very core with the diagnosis she received a few years ago – Stiff Person Syndrome.

I knew nothing about the serious impact it had on her life until I watched this documentary.  To see how it affects her is heartbreaking.  There is one moment captured on film where her body goes into a seizure.  She can’t move.  Even her face is frozen aside from the tears going down her face and her crying out in pain.

What you come away with is a deep appreciation of her music, her voice, and a realization of just how much she loves and appreciates her fans and how much she misses them.

My heart goes out to her as she continues to heal.

Have you seen it? What did you think?
