Movie Review – IF

You guys! I highly recommend the movie IF.

I went to see it last night and absolutely loved it.  Written and directed by actor John Krasinski (The Office fame) IF is about a girl who discovers that she can see everyone’s imaginary friends (IFs) and sets out on a magical adventure to reconnect forgotten IFs with their kids.

IF stars Ryan Reynolds, John Krasinski, Cailey Fleming, Fiona Shaw, and the voices of Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Louis Gossett Jr. and Steve Carell alongside many more.

It’s a movie about magic and imagination.  Believing in what you can’t see.

I never had an imaginary friend as a kid, but now I’m wondering what my IF would have looked like.  Because in this movie you get to meet all sorts of IFs.  Created by each child they were once attached to.

Ryan Reynolds is one of my favourite actors and I loved him in this role.  Cailey Fleming was brilliant.  She plays the 12 year-old girl Bea who went through something terrible and felt forced into  having to grow up too fast.

I laughed and I cried.  Be prepared.  That ending took me off guard.  A reminder of what matters and the power of imagination.

Well done and so worth the price of the movie ticket.
