Ladies – This One Is For You
On this International Women’s Day – I celebrate you. I am standing with you and cheering you on.
Who are you celebrating today? I hope you put yourself on the list. What are you proud of? What have you done that makes you smile and makes you feel good about? I hope you
Who inspires you? I think it is so important to surround ourselves with positive, uplifting women. I think it’s important to surround ourselves with people who will lift us up and encourage us and help us to keep believing in ourselves. Surround yourself with others who will encourage you to dream big and go for those dreams. Protect your boundaries from anything that will distract you or bring you down.
I feel so lucky to know so many incredible women. I was raised by one. My mom might be gone from my life but I am determined to live a life she would be proud of. She raised us with heart and humour. She taught me to stand strong. Family is the most important but you can do things for yourself too. I want to live my life in a way that celebrates who she was and what she taught me. She died too young and I want to somehow make up for what was lost.
My grandmother was fierce and fun. My aunts too helped to guide me in this world, more so after my mom died. I have been lucky to have other women step in and help me navigate the world without her. My second mom is an inspiration as well. I see the value of hard work. How a woman can run a business successfully. The power of faith and family and so much more have been learned from her.
I have an incredible circle of friends. Some have been with me since I was a kid. Some since high school and college. Others I have met along the way. I love them dearly. They keep me on track and don’t let me discount myself or make myself small. 
I work with an amazing team of ladies who inspire me each and every day. I’m incredibly lucky to not only call them co-workers, but close friends. That’s important. When you care about the people you work with it makes such a difference. When you encourage each other and lift each other up, it makes a difference.
Don’t ever stop believing in yourself and don’t ever stop being someone to lift up others and walk beside them and encourage them in whatever they want to do.
Let’s encourage each other to dream and go after those scary goals that can feel so intimidating and out of reach.
