We Need You Sarnia

Our annual donation drive is coming up Friday at Tepperman’s on London Road and we need you Sarnia.  We need your donations to help the Inn of the Good Shepherd now more than ever.

We get it.  It’s hard to give.  Everyone is asking for something right now.  Between food donations and toy drives and every other charity in the mix – it’s hard to give to everyone and it can be hard to give anything when you’re feeling the pinch yourself.

This is where the true spirit of the holidays shines.  This is where this community always steps up.  Even when it’s hard and feels impossible to put food on your own table, this Friday, you can donate to help those in our community that need us.  And according to THIS latest study, the need is bigger than it’s ever been.  Food bank use in general across the country is up 36%.  More people than ever before are turning to food banks. Use is up 101 since pre-pandemic. 2 out of 5 people using the food bank are using it for the first time.

Nobody wants to be at the mercy of others.  Nobody wants to admit they can’t do it alone.  Nobody ever expects they will be in a position to need the food bank.

What we can do is make it easier for those that need it right now.   There is no small donation.   Every dollar, every single donation will make a difference to someone in need.

This Friday is our annual Tepperman’s Family to Family Donation Drive.  The idea is to collect donations of non-traditional items for the Inn of the Good Shepherd.  Soap, shampoo, laundry detergent, dish soap, diapers, razors, toothpaste, and feminine hygiene products.  Because the need never goes away and no family, no person should ever have to choose between food on the table and soap or shampoo or toothpaste.

Times are tough for so many.  We understand that it’s hard right now, but if you can make even a small donation Friday, it will help someone who needs it.

Please join us at Tepperman’s this Friday.  George and Sarah will be there in the morning (Sarah til noon) but you can drop off your donations all day long.  Financial donations and food donations are also welcome.  Nothing will be turned away.

We’ll start playing the holiday music Friday morning as George and Sarah broadcast live from Tepperman’s starting at 6am.  You still have time to make your vote count for what should be the very first holiday song we play.  Enter online for a chance to win 2 Dream Home tickets with Bluewater Health Foundation.

It’s the season for giving and we are counting on you Sarnia.  Hope to see you and your donations on Friday at Teppermans!

And don’t forget — the 40th Annual St. Pat’s Irish Miracle is THIS Saturday – students from St. Patrick’s Catholic High School will be knocking on doors in Sarnia/ Point Edward Saturday morning between 9am and noon.  If you’re not home Saturday morning, donations can also be dropped off at St. Patrick’s High School on Rapids Parkway until noon.
