What I learned –
Mr Rogers was responsible for the career of Ernie Coombs. It was Fred Rogers offered a job in Toronto at CBC that led to the beginning of Mr. Dressup.
Ernie Coombs never started out wanting to be a childrens entertainer.
He made the famous tickle trunk. Even fixing it as it showed some wear and tear over the years.
Ernie loved what he did and had a unique talent. He suffered great loss in his life.
So much heart for what he did. It brought back a lot of memories for me for sure and a deeper understanding of the man I knew as Mr. Dressup.
Worth watching. But keep the Kleenex close.
