The View From Here – How To Wrap Your Head Around It
When I heard about another school shooting yesterday, my heart broke. When I learned it was young kids I cried.
How do you explain what is happening in our world? How do you make sense of the senseless? How do you understand that kind of violence?
As I read more about it today, it became more real and more heartbreaking. How can someone intentionally go into a school intending to harm others? Innocent kids. How does someone have that much rage? That much pain.
My heart breaks for everyone affected by that shooting yesterday. Thoughts and prayers are not enough. They are appreciated, but they don’t help.
People are hurting and broken and damaged. Something needs to change.
As a parent I can’t imagine that kind of pain. I’ll share this with you because as I listened to the voices of those who have lived through this before – I felt I had to.
Parents – hug your kids. Be kind to others. Be compassionate.
To those in Nashville – our hearts are broken and we send love your way. You are not alone in this.
