Ellen Says Goodbye
Oh it’s hard to say goodbye.
Ellen DeGeneres has brought laughter and kindness to our lives for 19 seasons with her daytime talk show and yesterday she said goodbye. It’s hard to not feel the loss.
I’ve always admired her humour, her compassion and kindness and the way she cares about people. She has always encouraged us all to be kind to each other and most importantly to be ourselves. She has encouraged and inspired. From a tv screen.
Thank you Ellen. For all that you have done for us in the last 19 years.
Leaving some videos here as we say goodbye and celebrate the last 19 years.
“Thank you so much for this platform. And I hope that what I’ve been able to do in the last 19 years has made you happy, and that I was able to take a little bit of pain away from a bad day, or anything you’re going through and I hope I’ve been able to inspire you to make other people happy and to do good in the world. To feel like you have a purpose.
“If I’ve done anything in the past 19 years, I hope I’ve inspired you to be yourself, your true authentic self. And if someone is brave enough to tell you who they are, be brave enough to support them, even if you don’t understand. They are showing you who they are and that is the biggest gift anybody can ever give you. And by opening your heart and your mind you’re going to be that much more compassionate, and compassion is what makes the world a better place.”
Thank you Ellen. For all the laughs. For helping make the world a better place. For encouraging people to be their best and be kind to each other. You’ve made such a difference in so many lives, including my own.
Your presence will be missed on television, but the world is better because of you and your show.
