The Best Of The VMA’s?
Did you watch the MTV Video Music Awards last weekend?
I admit I didn’t watch it live, but my daughter started playing some of the YouTube video recaps and I was hooked.
When I was younger, I loved music award shows. I loved sitting on the edge of my seat, waiting to see my favourite bands either perform or hand out awards or maybe even win a few.
Back then we didn’t have YouTube. We didn’t have the internet. If you missed the show, you missed it all. It was gone forever.
Sometimes I miss those days.
It doesn’t matter how old I get, I still hang onto that excitement from younger days, when I was excited about my favourite band. Duran Duran has a new album out next month, and trust me when I say, my teenage self is still alive and well and giddy over the upcoming release.
There was so really good performances on Sunday as the awards helped to celebrate 40 years. Artists who started MTV were on hand – Madonna kicked off the show. Cyndi Lauper was there looking incredible with purple hair. Does she ever age? She is by far one of my favourites.
