The View From Here – The Weather Outside Is Frightful

One of the perks of working from home?  Being able to stay in hibernation mode during the first blast of winter we’re seeing.  It’s nice to stay home on days like today, in comfy clothes and slippers. Being able to walk to the kitchen and throw something in the slow cooker for dinner and make a cup of hot chocolate with extra whipped cream when you do so.

It’s being able to talk to your kids and share their online schooling.  Have conversations about things that matter – like mental health.  I’ve learned a lot this week – from mental health awareness to addiction.

It’s for sure a day for comfort food. What are you eating today?  We’ll have that conversation this afternoon and I always look forward to your comments on the Fox Facebook page with dinner ideas.  It’s sweet and sour meatballs in the slow cooker for me.  Not sure if it’s a mashed potatoes or rice kinda day yet.

It’s National Plan Your Vacation Day today.  If there’s anything this weather makes you do, is dream about someplace ELSE you might want to be.  Someplace with a sandy beach, blue skies, sunshine.  What would your idea vacation day look like?  Where would you travel if you could?  I’m honestly not a big travel girl.  I do love camping more than anything.  I’d prefer that over a sandy beach any day.

We had some fun today making fun of staying home.   Trying to have fun with turning our own home into a tourist attraction.  How would you describe your home in a travel guide? What are the perks?  Amenities?  What would make me want to visit your kitchen or living room?

Today is National Plan For Vacation Day –

Wherever shall we go?  So many options.  So many new opportunities.  The Kitchen sounds nice. A bit exotic.  Highlights include – the pantry, fully stocked.  Snacks a plenty.  A view of the backyard,  wildlife.  By wildlife, I mean birds.  Sometimes a chickadee, a cardinal has been spotted recently.   The basement sounds intriguing. A place where laundry is plentiful.  Mountainous.  Is that a word?  The views are terrible though.  Not highly recommended.

The den area sounds nice. Secluded.  Quiet.

Maybe the living room is more to your liking – for those that prefer lots of activity.  Music.  Movies.  Entertainment at all hours.  Take a seat in the recliner.  Sit back. Relax.  Enjoy the sounds of nearby children playing, fighting.  Take a look at the view outside the front window.  Be amazed by what you see.  Or don’t see.  The BEDROOM is a MUST STAY.   The room comes with a queen size bed.  Extra pillows.  An escape from the everyday.  Private. Sleeping highly recommended.

I don’t want to brag, but I have been to the kitchen so much this year I feel like it’s lost it’s charm.

So many options.  How can you choose?   I’m excited about a return visit to the back yard.  To sit in the sun.  Under an umbrella.  At a small patio table.  Just waiting for the weather to warm up. I wonder if I should pack now?  Whatever shall I bring?

In all honesty, so many of us are so ready for vacation somewhere other than our homes.

Where do you plan to vacation when you’re able to do so?

The Peanuts gang is making a bit of a comeback.   A new show coming to Apple TV+  – The Snoopy Show.  The trailer teases how Charlie Brown and Snoopy may have first met, giving fans a little backstory about their relationship, before showing clips of the pup climbing mountains, dressing as a pilot and dodging Frisbees, among other things.

Each episode of the series will feature a trio of 7-minute stories based on the popular cartoon,

“Snoopy may seem like just a happy-dancin’, bone-lovin’, doghouse-sittin’ pup, but he’s much more than that. He’s Joe Cool: hippest kid in school. He’s surfer king and famed arm wrestler Masked Marvel. He’s a World War I flying ace who battles the Red Baron. All of his bold, beloved personas are on full display in this brand-new animated comedy.”

Apple TV+ is also home to other “Peanuts” properties, including “A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving,” “A Charlie Brown Christmas,” “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown,” “Happy New Year, Charlie Brown” and “Snoopy in Space.”

“The Snoopy Show” is available for streaming beginning Feb. 5.
