“Imagine” – Brighter Days Ahead
Radio stations across Canada are uniting today to celebrate a legend.
Today would be the 80th birthday of John Lennon.
John Winston Lennon was born at 6:30pm in Liverpool, England. He went on to inspire generations with his music, lyrics and his message and mission to live in a world more at peace with itself. His songs & messages, both timeless and universal, continue to provide energy and inspiration to this day to millions and millions of people across the planet, many right here in Canada.
“2020 has been a rough one for so many and we’d like to try and come together and urge Canadians to continue to draw energy & inspiration from John Lennon!”
So, today, at 1:30, the Fox will be part of this. Together with others across the country, playing “Imagine” to come together to collectively “Imagine” brighter days ahead. Perfect as we head into Thanksgiving weekend, and a deserving tribute to a much loved icon.
This is one of those moments in radio that I feel so lucky. It’s such an honour to be a part of celebrating an artist that has been part of my life since I can remember.
I grew up with the music of John Lennon and The Beatles because my mom loved them. She loved music. So I think of John Lennon and the Beatles and I remember my mom . Some of my best memories are with her and the music. And I followed in her footsteps that way. I can’t imagine life without music.
My kids share that love. It’s so special to me and I am so grateful this is my job. One of my favourite songs – and it’s going to be played on nearly every radio station across Canada today at 1:30.
To help Canadians “Imagine” brighter days ahead.
Pretty amazing.
