Every Friday we team up with the Canadian Mental Health Association Lambton Kent for FEEL GOOD FRIDAYS!

Focusing on things we can do to take care of ourselves, our mental health and help to feel good!

This week for #FeelGoodFriday – let’s chat about journaling.

There is lots of research around effective journaling – a practice that can help us meet our goals and improve our quality of life.

Although it might seem like a simple task, journaling can be effective for many different reasons including: helping us clear our heads, make important connections between thoughts, feelings, and behaviours and help us strive towards positive mental health.

It has also been found to boost our mood, enhance our sense of well-being, and improve our working memory. It can help us shift from a negative mindset to a more positive one, especially about ourselves.

Try writing in a private and personalized space that is free from distractions; try writing at least once each day; give yourself some time to write; and structure the writing however it feels right for you!
