Council Will Wait and See

Council has delayed signing off on its slots closure agreement with Ontario Lottery and Gaming. Council wanted to see how Windsor and Fort Erie handled the agreement before committing. The issue is expected to be dealt with at a special meeting of council May 28th.

Plans for Vacant School Approved

A local developer has received approval from Sarnia Council to convert the old St. Margaret’s School site to a warehouse complex. Councillor Jon McEachran says the facilities should fit in well with the Devine Street neighbourhood.

64-thousand square feet of warehouse and office space is planned.

First MRI Scan!

The first patient, Jennifer Lauzon, was scanned using Bluewater Health’s new 2.8 million dollar MRI today! Medical Director of Diagnostic Imaging Dr. Rishi Duggal says they didn’t run into any technical hiccups, it just took longer as they played around to see the new machine can do.

The old MRI is still in service as staff are trained on the new Siemens imaging device.  Bluewater Health has set a tentative date of June 20th to remove the old MRI from the hospital.
