The Village of Pt. Edward and Bluewater Bridge Canada are teaming up to install life rings along the shoreline of the St. Clair River.

Two life saving devices will be installed on the piers of the bridge.  An alarm will sound when they’re removed from their cabinets. Bridge Vice President of Operations Stan Korosec says they wanted to act before a life-saving situation takes place.

150 feet of wheelchair and walker-friendly material is being installed at Canatara Beach.

This is the 3rd year the matting has been laid out by Sarnia’s Park’s and Recreation Department. Accessibility Coordinator Susan Weatherston says the closer you can get to the water, the more enjoyable the beach is.
