Business of the Month – Alton Farms Estate Winery

Published On March 2, 2017 | By Blackburn Radio |

Our Business of the Month is Alton Farms Estate Winery! Marc and Anne Alton began their dream job in September of 2005 when they moved from Bright’s Grove to Aberarder Line in Plympton-Wyoming.  Their goal? To create a new wine region for Ontario, starting with their own vineyard and winery where wines could be enjoyed by everyone in Sarnia-Lambton.

In Spring of 2006, the planting of their first test acre began, with more than fifteen different varieties of grapes! A second test acre followed in 2007 with even more varieties, including Shiraz and Baco Noir. When the vines were mature enough to harvest, the real fun began. Marc and Anne have made more than seventeen different wines for both testing and tasting. They now have 6 acres of producing vines and continue to expand little by little each year.

Alton Farms also hosts a broad variety of events, such as special barrel tastings, anniversaries, reunions, family picnics and specialty dinners. Their beautiful vineyard and natural park-like setting provides bridal couples with the perfect location for their wedding ceremony and reception! In addition, watch for Alton Farms Wine Education Series! There’s always something going on at Alton Farms!
