The original ‘Mean Girls’ is getting a freaky re make!

The 1996 cult horror favorite, The Craft, about a group of aspiring witches at a Catholic high school, will be remade under the direction of rising genre star Leigh Janiak.

The Craft was originally directed by Andrew Fleming and starred Robin Tunney as Sarah, a new student at a Catholic high school who falls in with a crowd of girls dabbling in the dark arts (Fairuza Balk, Neve Campbell and Rachel True). Sarah turns out to be a natural witch, but the group’s amateur sorcery proves disastrous when they try to use it to fix their personal problems.

Janiak will co-write the script withPhil Graziadei, the co-scribe on her breakthrough movie Honeymoon.
