Toto bassist dies at age 59
Mike Porcaro, bassist for the band Toto (best known for hits like ‘Africa’, ‘Roseanna’ and ‘Hold The Line’) has died.
Porcaro had been battling Lou Gehrig’s Disease also known as ALS and passed away early Sunday at the age of 59.
His brother and fellow band member, Steve Porcaro posted the news on Facebook yesterday, writing, “Our brother Mike passed away peacefully in his sleep at 12:04 AM last night at home surrounded by his family. Rest in peace, my brother.”
Toto has a new album out this month and had previously partnered with the ALS Association to raise money/awareness during their tours.
