Don’t Talk To Strangers?

Do you chat with strangers on your commute into the office or on your travels…?
Well, you, you little chatty Kathy, you’re way more happy than the next person who tends to keep to themselves…. behavioural scientists tracked commuter/traveller habits and responses where some of the commuters were told to connect with a stranger near them, while the others were not to, or commute as they normally would without any specific instruction.
In both cases people said they had reported a more positive experience when they connected than when they did not…But inspite of what the research has uneartheed, the study found that most people ignore each other because they are under the wrong imppression that solitude is a more positive experience than interacting with strangers; we don’t want to be a bother and interrupt someones quiet morning commute. Well according to this, any interruption might be a welcome distraction!
