Book Club Is A Must See!
You must go see Book Club. Grab your best gal pals and go see this movie today. Seriously.
I haven’t been this excited to see a movie in a long time and it was better than I thought it would be.
I knew with such a talented cast it wouldn’t disappoint but it went way beyond my expectations.
Book Club – by it’s previews – looks like it might be a little to “naughty” studying the book 50 Shades of Grey.
“Four older women spend their lives attending a book club where they bond over the typical suggested literature. One day, they end up reading Fifty Shades of Grey and are turned on by the content. Viewing it as a wake up call, they decide to expand their lives and chase pleasures that have eluded them.”
But it’s not really about the book. The book gets a conversation going. It’s more about how they react to the book. They look at themselves. At their lives.
If you are over 35 and have been married for any length of time you will greatly appreciate this movie.
It deals with frustrations in relationships. Dating after the death of a spouse. Staying relevant. Independent. Doing things afraid.
There were endless laughs in the movie theatre last night. A packed house too.
Diane Keaton is hilarious. Jane Fonda is gorgeous and brilliant. Candice Bergen is classy and funny, and Mary Steenburgen is all of us. Four friends in their 60s who read Fifty Shades of Grey as part of their monthly book club, and it begins to change how they view their personal relationships.
It leaves you feeling better about your relationships. It leaves you feeling like you want to do more, be better, live more.
Non stop laughter in the theatre. A round of applause when it was over. Go see it. Like, right now. It was that good.
