#ADayWithoutAWoman

Did YOU got to work yesterday?  Because I did.  Did YOU take the day off yesterday?  Yep, me neither. But some people did. In connection with #InternationalWomensDay, the women’s movement grew bigger yesterday with women encouraged to just stay home.  I guess the idea is to someone make people see how much they need us?

Whatever the reason, late night tv hosts used it to their benefit.  To make us laugh.

What are your thoughts on this?  I value and respect women.  I have had amazing women in my life, and continue to surround myself with positive and powerful women.  I believe in lifting each other up instead of talking each other down.  I believe that we can do all things, but some things I would just rather not.  I’m totally fine in letting my husband do the “man” stuff.  He takes out the garbage, and does the maintenance work on vehicles.  I am totally happy being in the kitchen and making a meal for my family.  I really love it and think it’s one of my favourite days.

I appreciate we have a day to appreciate women and all their accomplishments, but that should be done everyday.  I also appreciate Sophia Trudeau’s approach to showing appreciation to the boys and men in our lives that encourage and support and respect women.

She took a lot of criticism for what she posted.

On Tuesday, Grégoire Trudeau asked her followers to take a picture holding hands with their “male ally” and share it on social media with the hashtag #TomorrowInHand.

“This week, as we mark International Women’s Day, let’s celebrate the boys and men in our lives who encourage us to be who we truly are, who treat girls & women with respect, and who aren’t afraid to speak up in front of others,”
