A New Perspective
This guy speaks the truth.
According to a recent study 41% of Americans don’t plan to take all their vacation days.
And that’s if you’re lucky enough to have paid vacation days in the first place.
So what are you waiting for?
If I realize anything after an extra long weekend, it’s how much I really appreciate and enjoy my time at home. I love preparing family dinners, and baking, and bike riding with my kids. I love time in the morning to listen to birds sing, to watch them eat from the feeder in my backyard, to watch my kids colour a masterpiece on the sidewalk outside our house.
I don’t think you always need to spend thousands to get away. You just need to unplug. To leave work behind when you leave at the end of the day. To not always answer the phone when it rings. To not always respond to that text or tweet. To not always put that basket of laundry away and go for a walk with your family.
It’s so important to make memories instead of money. Although money is necessary – it can’t be all that matters. Your kids, your spouse, your friends know when work takes priority over you.
