So What Are YOUR Plans?

It’s March Break and if you’re reading this, I guess that means that you’re like the rest of us.  You’re still HERE.  (smile).

But that’s ok, because I don’t think you have to fly to Florida, or spend thousands of dollars to have a really great family vacation.  I’m putting in a couple of days at work, then it’s up to my kids what we do.  This area is so rich in activities.  We can hit a trail, walk through a park, walk along the waterfront.  Venture under the bridges for some delicious fries – sources say the fries are back!!

Lambton Country Libraries have a ton of free activities for the whole family too. TONIGHT at 7pm, at the Library Theatre in Sarnia, they will be showing “Despicable Me 2”.

Tuesday, March 17 is “Green Day” in the Children’s Department.  Wear something green, enter a draw, play some games or do an art activity.  There will be a short story time at 10:00 a.m. and again at 2:00 p.m. and a cartoon at 11:00 a.m. and again at 3:00 p.m.

Wednesday, March 18 is “Music Day” in the Children’s Department.  Drop in between 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.to make an instrument to take home with you.

Thursday the PG rated live-action movie “Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day” will be shown for free from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the Sarnia Library Theatre.

All events are free.  For more information contact either the Sarnia Library Children’s Department or the Reference Department at 519-337-3291.

Tour a sugar bush and see how maple syrup is made.  We go to Fort Rose every year and it’s so much fun.  And the pancakes are delicious!

The Alvinston Maple Syrup Festival and Ipperwash Maple Syrup Festival are both this weekend.

So much fun.

I believe in keeping things simple for March Break. My kids want to hike some trails, sit in a coffee shop with a mug of hot chocolate and maybe even get the bikes out again!  Simple, simple, simple.

And if it’s one thing I still love to have in my hands, and watch my kids create all sorts of artwork with — is sidewalk chalk.  I found this online and thought it might be worth trying.  I’m not sure if I’ll actually get it done, but I love that I could if I wanted to so I thought I would share.

DO IT YOURSELF SIDEWALK CHALK.
