Carly Rae Jepsen is back with the follow up to her smash single “Call Me Maybe” and she’s enlisted some big names for the video.  Tom Hanks and Justin Bieber.

In an interview with the Associated Press, Carly talks of how big a task it is to even try to come up with a song after the huge success of Call Me Maybe.

“I think the only way to kind of tackle that for me was to throw myself into the work and writing and just keep writing every single day and try every single avenue — do it on my own, do it with other people, try different artists that maybe my label wouldn’t think of, and finally have like a whole library of material to pick from and it’s been a fun process narrowing it down,” explained the singer on crafting a new batch of tunes. “I think I’ve got it to the top 22 now, so now it’s just me and a group of label mates and friends and family and we kind of do listening parties and make our votes and the best is rising, I think.”

On the new song “I Really Like You”, Tom Hanks actually volunteered to be in the video.

“I had an idea that there would be a man singing it, someone sort of unexpected, and talking it over with Scoots (Scooter Braun) he was laughing at me as I was stalking different people to try and like get them to get involved and I guess he was telling Tom, one of his friends, this idea over dinner and Tom just said, ‘Well why don’t you ask me?’ It was as simple as that and I got the call about three days before Christmas,” shared the singer.

She also clarifies that her relationship with Justin Bieber (who is also in the video) is “just one of support and friendship.  I think I’ve seen him take on crazier things than I think any of us could imagine — just being on the road, doing a world tour and seeing him be almost treated like a Beatle.  I don’t think I’ve seen anyone treated quite so, put up on such a huge pedestal, and I think he’s doing the best he can and I’m there to support him.”

“My personal relationship with Justin (Bieber) is just one of support and friendship,” notes the chart-shaking talent. “I think I’ve seen him take on crazier things than I think any of us could imagine — just being on the road, doing a world tour and seeing him be almost treated like a Beatle. I don’t think I’ve seen anyone treated quite so, put up on such a huge pedestal, and I think he’s doing the best he can and I’m there to support him.”
