Have You Been To Your High School Reunion?
An invitation went out on Facebook this weekend. A reunion of sorts for the high school I attended.
Those who graduated between 1987 and 1989. Nothing makes you feel as old as realizing it’s been THIRTY years since you graduated high school.
What was your high school experience like? We had just moved from Mississauga to Thedford. I knew NOBODY. I spent the majority of grade nine hanging out in the library in between classes. High school is tough enough without knowing anybody. Yeah, I got through it and even made some really great friends along the way.
Four years can seem like an eternity when you’re in the thick of it. Looking back we realize it really is nothing in the grand scheme of things. Four years to figure it all out. What you are going to “be when you grow up.” Scary, isn’t it?
So many great memories from those days for sure. Learning who I was, and trying to find who I really wanted to be.
I honestly haven’t kept in touch with many people from those years. I have a few close friends I text once in a while or keep in contact with on social media, but otherwise I don’t know too many.
For those who went to North Lambton Secondary School in Forest – there is a reunion coming up Saturday July 20th, from 1 to 5pm, at the Kimball Hall (old Forest Arena) in Forest for those who graduated between 1987 and 1989. Further details will be announced in the coming weeks.
